An authentic and historic culture-inspired campsite for the modern travellers who would like to experience both the stillness and beauty of nature and the richness of history.
Žagarė Campsite was founded by like-minded people who share a passion for nature, culture, and history. A family-friendly campsite in the heart of Žagarė, surrounded by greenery and a garden, it provides a tranquil atmosphere for those who want to escape from the city hustle.
Close to the Latvian Border, the campsite is a perfect spot for a longer stay or a stop for barbeque or night’s stay during long-distance traveling. While being close to nature, you will also have a chance to experience historical beauty and heritage - there is an authentic, english - style dairy, built in 1925, in our premises!
The campsite is very close to the Camino Lituano pilgrimage route and welcomes pilgrims and hikers who are looking for rest and relaxation.
Located nearby the Latvia border, Žagarė is one of the oldest towns in Lithuania. The history of the town dates back to 1198 when Raktė Castle was mentioned. The old town of Žagarė, which is protected by the state, has maintained its network of 16th-century streets which intertwine different periods of cultural heritage. For the culture and history lovers, the greatness of ancestors and a sense of aristocracy can be felt in the complex of Žagarė manor houses and a stableman's house.
